Check who’s phone spamming you

A service for American readers, Whocalled.us stands for a web service that lets people share comments about the identity of phone spammers (via o’reilly radar). Get a phone call right in the middle of your diner, every day. Don’t recognize the phone number? Look it up here who it was, where they’re calling, and who they already annoyed.

In essence, the service looks similar to Hoaxbusters.com, a directory of email spams and how to get rid of them. But with this big difference: At the you-power era, such a service take advantage of social network to extend its usefulness.

Our suggestion would be to set this kind of service for VoIP spammers, and develop a plugin that warns phone users to not hang up when they have a spammer at the end of the line.
