American PC maker Systemax will be enticing the Chinese market with its deal with 8×8 broadband provider. When users get one of its low-cost computers from online store TigetDirect.com, they would also receive a VoIP 8×8 bundle, called Packet8 Softalk. With it, they would be able to make and receive video and voice phone calls, but also call to landline phones.

Systemax PCs costs from $300 to $600, a traditional promotion for this period of the year. For the record, PC-to-landline callings are supposed to be prohibited by the Chinese government. But 8×8 has probably figured out how to work around this ban, effective to 2008.
