Sony is preparing to introduce some voice and video calling features in the PSP. A Memory Stick, expected for this winter, will work with the USB EyeToy camera module and turn the gaming device into a wireless VoIP handset or a video conferencing tool.

Before this, two other add-ons should be available: a GPS module and a major software upgrade that will provide the Microsoft Internet Explorer web browser and Macromedia Flash player.

These new features sound like an echo to the recent Nintendo announcements. The all-time Sony rival plans to introduce a digital TV tuner and the Opera web browser, both should come by the end of this year. At the Sony’s time.
