Meg Whitman emails eBay users: Keep the Net neutral

A premiere in eBay’s history. Meg Whitman, eBay CEO, typing on her keyboard an email to entice eBay American users this: “send a message to your representatives in Congress before it is too late.”

“The telephone and cable companies in control of Internet access are trying to use their enormous political muscle to dramatically change the Internet,” reported CNet on Whitman’s note. “It might be hard to believe, but lawmakers in Washington are seriously debating whether consumers should be free to use the Internet as they want in the future.”

Of course, eBay’s voice is a significant one as its child company, Skype, is responsible of the surge in bandwidth consumption. And that’s one of the arguments used by opponents to the Net Neutrality.

Is eBay going to set an official web site to relay and centralize this contestation? Not sure. Mrs. Whitman is just jumping in the All-neutral-Internet bandwagon. Vinton Cerf, Mobi, Alyssa Milano ― does she really care about this?! ― have raised their hands against its adoption.

And now, dear readers, now your turn to speak up. Do you think this will be enough?
