Google Talk-Windows Live Messenger one-way interoperability

Another bridge has been made in the instant messenger universe. Google Talk to converse with Windows Live Messenger. Big deal for GTalk and for its users, but there’s a catch: The bridge wasn’t filled by any of the IM teams.

It’s GTalk2VoIP, a service we already covered here, which did the developing job. The service shouldn’t yet considered as a sheer interoperability. Calls are made one way, from GTalk to Windows Live Messenger; GTalk2VoIP basic services were to allow GTalk users to reach landline and mobile phone pals.

Prior to start a free Google Talk-Live Messenger call, GTalk users need to include the bot service@gtalk2voip.com into their contact lists, as reminds their release. Then outgoing calls to Live Messenger members are placed by ordering a call to their contacts’ email such as someuser@hotmail.com.
