Forget Web collaboration, meet Web conferencing: DimDim

Teleconferencing is one of the direct results of media convergence. But voice/video calling and data sharing haven’t been that far put all together. DimDim intends to fill this gap.

The startup provides an open source browser-based conferencing solution that provides the current popular applications: Presentation and document sharing; Audio and video sharing; Application sharing; White board and Annotations; Chat; Polls (quite useless except if you plan to set a 500-people conference call); Questions manager; Archives for missing participants.

Such a set of tools is cool, but reminds a lot application suites that rock the world in the 90s. But we hope that this time, there would be a common language that makes all the applications speak to each other more fluently. Otherwise, the platform would be messy and too big to be interesting.

The platform (in alpha) works only under Internet Explorer 6 on Windows.
