If Sequoia Capitals has Sipera, Globespan has Covergence

There’s a new VoIP security in town. Covergence, not a newborn, formed in late 2003, has sweetly grabbed $15 million in fund raising from Globespan Capital partners, Highland Capital Partners and North Bridge Venture Partners.

We know that securing broadband telephony becomes a highly praised market segment. Covergence said it gained market momentum last year. Another VoIP security solutions, Sipera, has raised $19 million in March from Sequoia Capitals.

And the NSF (US federal agency for science promotion and development) granted about $600,000 to a handful of top universities to study VoIP security.
