ComCast to Powerboost its network speed

Now that the US Congress has erased the Net Neutrality on the Internet, cablecos and telcos are now set free to privilege reasonable demanding contents on their network. Said differently: telcos and cablecos are going to provide different subscriptions. The more you’re willing to pay, the best quality of service you would get.

No. It’s just a gossip; at least until it changes its mind, Comcast, the biggest cableco in the US, nears the launch of its PowerBoost speed enhancer.

Via digital silence: “PowerBoost technology utilizes additional capacity already built into Comcast’s advanced fiber network to provide customers with extra bursts of download speed ― up to 12Mbps and16Mbps, respectively, on Comcast’s 6 and 8Meg services.”

Big bandwidth consuming activities, such as video or voice on IP, will be smoother and more efficient. Yes, but not every application will be allowed ― get out of the way you freaking insecure Skype and damn pirate Bittorrent. The work is due to end before year end.
