There will be a deluge of new mobile TV services next week during the CES. Three announcements will be expected. Cingular Wireless will show off a new and hot service — video conference on cellphones. Callers will just need to push a button to send an invitation to receivers. Once it gets accepted, the video conference could be start.
Verizon will also take part at the biggest consumer electronics show to launch its long-awaited live TV service for mobile phones. It will debut with fewer than one-dozen channels, according to Multichannel.
Last but not least, Modeo, a startup focused on mobile TV, will debut its service in beta. GigaOM reports “the company still has no carrier deals to announce or a timeline for when the service will be available to the public and outside of New York.” The beta group will be using the DVB-H HTC-manufactured smart phone.
